
Mike Lazaridis
Mike Lazaridis is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Quantum Valley Investments. In 2013, he and Doug Fregin established the Quantum Valley Investment Fund in Waterloo, Canada to provide financial and intellectual capital for the development and commercialization of quantum physics and quantum computing breakthroughs.
Mr. Lazaridis co-founded BlackBerry, formerly Research In Motion, and helped build Canada’s largest global technology business. He also established the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, founded the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, and has been recognized with honours including the Order of Ontario, Order of Canada, Royal Society fellowships, the Ernest C. Manning Principal Award, TIME 100 recognition, IEEE Honorary Membership, an Academy Award, and an Emmy Award for technical achievements.
